Prison ministry

Since August 2008, we have been running a course in one of our local prisons called Art for Life. This course is designed to build personal identity for the prisoners through creative expression, with the goal of shifting their mindset and restoring their hope for the future. We want to make the prisoners aware of their value and purpose as an individual and also empower them to make positive choices to change their lives.
Through the course and our personal interaction, the prisoners' self-esteem, as well as a sense of value for others, is developed in order to help them consider an alternative lifestyle to one of crime, particularly when they are released. The course encourages them to give back to their communities and to raise awareness regarding the destructive nature of crime.
